Applied Acoustics’ range of acoustic positioning beacons is one of the most extensive available from any manufacturer and includes very small models, the Micro Beacons, for use in shallow water or where space is limited, up to the Seabed Beacons operating in deep, noisy or difficult environments.
The range offers a host of benefits for a multitude of marine positioning applications, with models specifically designed for challenging tasks during subsea operations. Each unit combines durability with ease of use.
For true versatility and cost-effectiveness, every beacon in the range has been designed to be immediately compatible with almost all industry standard tracking systems operating worldwide.
Additionally most beacons can operate as a Transponder, an acoustic beacon which transmits on receipt of an acoustic interrogation pulse, a Responder, an electrically triggered acoustic beacon, or a Pinger, which regularly transmits acoustic signals until the power supply is exhausted.
Applied Acoustics’ beacons are widely accepted for quality and reliability throughout the world, in many industry sectors and in diverse applications.
- Robust, rugged construction
- Easy selection of transmit and receive frequencies (channels)
- High reputation for signal stability
- Rigorously tested for distinguished endurance and performance
Micro Beacons: Small sized, ideal for divers, short ranges and small ROV’s
Mini Beacons: ‘Work-horse’ beacons for towfish and ROV tracking, often used by divers, too
Midi Beacons: High powered, but compact. Used for long range towfish tracking and AUV positioning
Fatboy Beacons: Ideal for deep water ROV’s and AUV’s
Low Frequency Beacons: Long range, deep water applications
Seabed Beacons: Large battery capacity for long term deployment often used as reference markers
V-Nav: Acoustic Positioning System
Beacon Testers & Chargers: Accessories to complete your system
